Digi-Trans No Weed Laser

Digi-Trans self-weeding heat transfer paper is designed to transfer only the toner to your substrate, leaving no background plastic polymer. It is suitable for the transfer of full colour images to light coloured fabrics. It makes the image appear as if it were screen-printed and there is no need to trim or cut the paper - it basically weeds itself!

• Designed for laser printers or colour laser photocopiers only (oil or oil-less)
  - tests have shown that this paper works well with Okidata, Canon and Samsung printers
  - the toner used in HP and Brother printers may result is reduced durability/washability
• Suitable for heat press application only - 1 step application process
• Available in A4 and A3 size
• Self-weeding leaving no plastic polymer window and no need to trim the paper!
• Works well on cotton, 50/50 blends and polyester best on fabrics with a tight weave
• Suitable for t-shirts, handbags, mouse pads, leather articles, art papers and more

Need to know:

• Great for text and graphics with intense colours and not recommended for photographs, pastels & gradients (for photos use Techni-Print® 4.0 or Laser 1 Opaque®)
• Will not transfer white or colours with less than 50% saturation (to transfer white use Image Clip® Koncert T's)
• The toner used in HP and Brother printers may reduce the quality and longevity fo the transfer
• Due to the unique quality of only transferring the toner to garments, this paper has demonstrated less washability than regular transfer papers - Durability can be increased by washing garments inside out and not using detergents with bleach or whitening chemicals

Simple instructions:

1. Mirror your image or artwork
2. Print image onto the transfer paper using a laser printer
3. Position the heat transfer on your substrate with the image facing downwards
4. Apply the printed image to your substrate using a heat press
5. Peel away the backing paper whilst warm (wait 5-10 seconds)
6. Leave the finished item for 24 hours before washing

yolö tips...

• Ensure the colours in your image are intense and have at least 50% saturation - you may have to darken lighter colours within your image
• Digi-Trans finds it difficult to recognise pastels and gradients so for best results, avoid images with gradients, extremely light colours or photographs
• Ensure you use FIRM to HEAVY pressure when pressing and press for 25 seconds
• The crucial part is peeling:
  • You must peel after approximately 5 seconds and within 10 seconds of removing the heat source - you can leave the garment on the heat press to give you a little more time (as it won't cool so quickly)
  • When peeling, peel the paper back at a sharp angle and in one move for a clean image reveal
• Peel at a sharp angle and in one slow but smooth movement for a clean image reveal
• Re-press after peeling with a Teflon sheet for an ultra-glossy finish

• Run the transfer paper on a heavy paper mode (175gsm+) such as "transparency" or "label" mode - This will slow down the paper in the machine allowing more time for the toner to adhere completely
• Try running your printer in duplex mode
• If possible, always use a by-pass tray
• Feed the transfer paper into the printer in portrait orientation. This is where the shorter side will feed into the printer first.

If none of these tips work, your printer may be too hot to run heat transfer paper

I use this product for promotional t's and it works a treat. It was a bit tricky to master the peeling but I got there in the end.
